Hidden in Southerndown just outside Bridgend, South Wales lies an amazing little restaurant – Frolics.
This has become our go-to place to eat for things like birthdays and anniversaries, this is not just because of the outstanding food but also because of the venue and the staff.
It’s not a huge place, a handful of tables on the main entrance floor and a larger dining area downstairs best suited for larger groups but it’s this smaller number of diners that makes the place special, it’s not hustle and bustle but relaxed dining at it’s best. Of course this is helped largely by the staff, you’re treated like family, nothing is too much trouble and they look after you.
Then there is the food, it’s a small menu but it changes regularly and the dishes never fail to surprise and delight, starters, mains or desserts – it’s all amazing and the portion sizes are spot on – not too much, not too little – the Goldilocks portion size!
If you’re lucky enough to be in the area, give them a try – you won’t be disappointed.
