Who is this rambling tech and sci-fi obsessed idiot who adds content to this site?
Well the question does slightly answer it, think Shrek but working in tech and you get the general idea.
I’ve worked in tech for a long time, I’ve done numerous things based around tech including a very successful gaming clan which brought together like minded individuals who simply enjoyed gaming and didn’t care for the competitive side of gaming – there were a number of ‘drunk gaming’ nights where the laughs literally stopped us in our tracks.
A few years ago before the time of the bat soup (Covid) I ran a review site, I purchased most of the products I reviewed but was also sent a lot of products to try and review – some were good, and some bad but I always gave my honest opinion. This became much harder when Amazon tried to stop reviews on their site, it simply became a very dishonest review system with products being given ridiculous ratings and waffle on it’s use which didn’t match the item! I took the decision to close down my review site as it simply became too expensive to review products based on my limited purchasing.
After bat soup time, I decided to start up Behind The Geek, it was something that had just come into being back when I had the review site as I was trying to branch out and not rely on reviewing tech. It’s little life started on Instagram with pictures of food, after all I didn’t suddenly become a Shrek like tech geek, it took years of food! Holidays started (more of that in ‘A Brief history of time’) so my Youtube channel which I had created back in 2017 but never really used came back to life, but this time with holiday videos.
So that is me in a nutshell, the Shrek like tech geek who married his Princess Fiona (but as a human) and rescued Porgwin from the potential hands of a small human thing who would have probably ended up losing him five minutes later!
As these adventures are ours I will be referencing Mrs BehindTheGeek (aka Mrs BtG), this is a loving shorthand to refer to my Princess Fiona, and whilst she isn’t called Fiona and isn’t a princess she is a fiery red head and will steal or destroy your soul if you get on her wrong side!
